Rizful is a browser-based home for Bitcoin on Lightning. These answers cover getting started, sending and receiving payments, connecting Nostr apps, and protecting your account.

What does it cost?

The standard Rizful account has no subscription fee, and receiving Lightning payments is free. Sending payments has a platform fee plus Lightning routing fees:

For example, sending 10,000 sats under normal conditions incurs a 10-sat platform fee, plus routing fees. Routing fees pay the nodes that carry a payment through the Lightning Network and can vary with the route.

These are the fees published on Rizful's homepage. Check the payment details before confirming; on-chain transfers and conversions can involve different costs. Free incoming Lightning payments do not mean that the wallet sending you money pays no fees.

Do I get my own Lightning node?

A standard Rizful account lets you use Lightning without operating a node or managing payment channels yourself. Your vault is where you manage your balance, Lightning address, and connected apps.

If you want to operate a node through a browser, the separate, paid Rizful Node service lets you open and close channels and explore how Lightning works. It is useful for learning about nodes without setting up hardware at home. Read that service's pricing and backup model before choosing it; a regular Rizful vault and a Rizful Node are different products.

How long do payments take?

Rizful reports that Lightning payments usually settle in less than a second. That makes Lightning convenient for tips, zaps, and everyday payments, but it is not a guaranteed deadline: a payment still needs a working route to its destination.

On-chain Bitcoin transfers follow a different schedule. They need blockchain confirmations, and the receiving wallet or exchange may wait for several confirmations before crediting your deposit. Bitcoin blocks arrive roughly every ten minutes on average, but an individual transfer can take longer. See Bitcoin's confirmation guidance and the on-chain withdrawal guide.

If you are unsure whether a payment succeeded, check its status in your transaction history before trying again.

How many Lightning addresses can I have?

Each Rizful account can have up to 15 Lightning addresses, each associated with its own balance and transaction ledger. These separate vaults help you organize your activity: for example, one for personal zaps, one for a project, and one for testing an app.

Choose a memorable address such as yourname@rizful.com so people can send you sats without copying a long invoice. It looks like an email address, but its purpose here is receiving Lightning payments.

To create another vault, choose New Vault from the main menu, then edit its Lightning address. The test vault tutorial walks through the process. Separate balances help organize funds, but all these vaults still belong to the same Rizful account.

I'm already on Nostr, can I use my existing Nostr public key?

Yes. Copy your public key from your existing Nostr profile and import it into Rizful. You can keep the Nostr identity you already use; there is no need to start over with a new profile. Rizful does not need your private Nostr key.

Then add your Rizful Lightning address to your Nostr profile so other people can send you zaps. You can also use your Rizful address as your NIP-05 identifier. The Jumble guide shows how to copy your public key into Rizful and fill in both profile fields; there are also guides for Damus, Primal, and Amethyst.

The two fields do different jobs: your Lightning address receives payments, while NIP-05 connects a readable identifier to your Nostr public key. NIP-05 identifies a profile; it does not certify someone's real-world identity.

How secure is Rizful?

Rizful supports two-factor authentication (2FA) with an authenticator app. Enable it to add a second check alongside your password when signing in. Use a unique password and protect the email account you use for recovery, too.

Connected apps deserve the same care as your login. A send-and-receive NWC code gives an app spending access to its vault. Treat that code as a sensitive credential, and use a small, separate vault when trying unfamiliar apps.

If an app only needs to accept payments, use a receive-only NWC code. It cannot spend your Bitcoin, although it can read information such as the vault's balance and transaction history. Account security and connection permissions work together; enabling 2FA does not make a spending-enabled NWC code safe to share publicly.

Is Rizful a replacement for Bitcoin cold storage?

No. Use Rizful for the Bitcoin you expect to spend, send, or receive on Lightning in the near future. Think of it as your everyday spending wallet.

For long-term holdings, use a properly backed-up hardware wallet or another suitable offline setup where you control the keys. A strong account password and 2FA protect access to Rizful, but do not turn an online balance into cold storage.

You can move funds to your own Bitcoin wallet using Send → Send On-Chain. Follow the Lightning-to-on-chain guide, check the destination address, and allow time for blockchain confirmations.

Can I log in with my Nostr account?

No. Rizful uses an email address and password, with optional two-factor authentication. Importing a Nostr public key connects your profile; it does not make that key a Rizful login credential.

Keeping the login separate means your private Nostr key is not also the key to your Rizful account. You can connect compatible apps through Nostr Wallet Connect without giving Rizful your private Nostr key. Protect any NWC codes that permit spending, since those grant their own access to your vault.

You may sign up using a privacy-preserving email service or an email alias, including a hide-my-email feature. Keep access to that inbox or forwarding alias so you can receive account recovery messages. See how to use Rizful without revealing your main email address.

I'm signed into Rizful. What do I do now?

Start with the First Steps with Rizful guide. A simple setup looks like this:

1. Choose your Lightning address. Edit the address on your vault so it is easy to remember and share.
2. Receive a small payment. Share your address or use a payment QR code to try receiving sats.
3. Connect Nostr, if you use it. Import your public key and add your Rizful address to your profile to receive zaps.
4. Connect an app when you need one. Use NWC to let a compatible app work with your vault, choosing receive-only or spending access to match its purpose.
5. Enable two-factor authentication. Secure your account before keeping a larger spending balance there.

You do not need to use Nostr to send or receive Lightning payments. If you already have on-chain Bitcoin, you can also deposit it into Rizful and use it on Lightning after confirmation.

How do I withdraw from Rizful?

Open the vault you want to withdraw from and select Send. Choose the payment method supported by your destination:

If you are sending to an exchange, get the invoice or deposit address from its deposit screen and check its minimum deposit and network requirements. Review the amount, destination, and any displayed fees before confirming. A Bitcoin on-chain address and a Lightning invoice are not interchangeable.

Does Rizful.com have an app on the App Store or Google Play?

Apple & Google love to censor Bitcoin apps

No, it does not. Rizful has some good excuses, too:

1. You can easily install Rizful on your phone by adding it to your home screen. It works just like an app, but you don't have to download anything or update it. It's always the latest version.

2. Lightning is an "online-only" payment technology. You cannot send Lightning payments if your phone is offline. Of course, your Rizful.com vaults are always running, so they can receive payments even if your phone is off. But sending payments requires an internet connection, so a mobile app would be of limited use.

3. The Lightning Network is private and secure by default. Native mobile apps rely on Apple's and Google's infrastructure for push notifications, which means those companies could theoretically see when your payments arrive. A web app in your browser has no such dependency unless you choose to turn browser notifications on.

4. Google and Apple routinely reject Bitcoin and Lightning apps from their stores.

Can I accept Bitcoin payments on my website or app with Rizful?

Yes. Use OpenReceive, a free, open-source library from Megalith: paste its agent directions into your coding agent, give it a receive-only NWC code from Rizful, and payments land in your vault with no account, API key, or KYC.

Can I test NWC safely?

Yes. Create a dedicated test vault with a few hundred sats in it and hand out NWC codes for that vault only. If an app misbehaves, your main balance is never at risk, and you can delete the code at any time.
